Charge pump optimised for handheld and battery-powered applications
|
|
AME has introduced the AME7739 charge-pump voltage converter, which requires only two low-value ceramic capacitors and a pump capacitor to produce a regulated output delivering up to 60mA. No external inductors are required. |
These savings combine with the small dimensions
of the converter’s SOT-26 package to reduce PCB
footprint in space-restricted designs.
A number of versions are available,
offering fixed output voltages of 3.3V, 3.0V,
2.7V or 2.5V from an input voltage in the
range 1.8V to 5.5V. Two other fixed-output
versions are available, producing 5.0V from
an input between 2.7V and 5.5V, or 5.5V from
a 3.3V-5.5V input.
The AME7739 is optimised for batterypowered
applications, with low output ripple
and high efficiency over a large portion of its
load range, as well as an energy-saving
shutdown mode initiated via an external pin.
This mode disconnects the output and reduces
input quiescent current to below 1µA. The
device also implements on-chip short-circuit
protection and over-temperature protection.
