Ultra-low-cost amplifiers loaded with performance
|
|
Staying within cost and performance budgets for designs that need CMOS voltage-feedback amplifiers can be a daunting task. |
With characteristics including rail-to-rail input and
output swing, 200mA supply current and 3.7MHz
bandwidth, Fairchild Semiconductor’s new
FAN4174/FAN4274 are extremely competitively
priced for the level of performance they offer.
The FAN4174 and FAN4274 are respectively
single and dual voltage-feedback amplifiers that
require only 200mA of operating current while
providing 33mA of output short-circuit current.
The amplifiers are capable of operation from
power supplies rated from 2.5V to 5V. The
common-mode operating voltage range extends
beyond both the negative and positive rails, and
the output swing is to within 10mV of either rail.
Input offset voltage is typically zero and has a
maximum of 6mV at 25°C.
Fabricated in a Bi-CMOS semiconductor process,
the FAN4174 and FAN4274 show a slew rate of
3V/ms when operating from a 5V power supply.
Input noise is 25nV/√Hz.
The combination of low-power operation,
rail-to-rail performance and tiny SC70-5 or
SOT23-5 (FAN4174) and MSOP-8 (FAN4274)
package options make this amplifier ideal for
industrial and battery-powered applications.
