Software streamlines development of high-power LED systems
Thermal management is critically important in any solidstate
lighting system, as the junction temperature affects
both LED light output and lifetime. QLed is a powerful
simulation and optimisation software package that
allows engineers to perform real-time thermal design of
electronic systems that use LUXEON® high-power LEDs. It
allows users to simulate the thermal characteristics of
their mechanical designs, thus minimising the number of
design cycles, reducing development costs, and
decreasing time to market.

QLed has been designed with ease-of-use in mind, with
step-by-step design wizards and built-in models of
LUXEON high-power LEDs. A library has been included to
allow for the storing, sharing, and re-use of components,
assemblies and entire models. QLed is also
computationally inexpensive and fast; most simulations
take only a few minutes to run. Furthermore, QLed design
and analysis is not limited to mechanical fixtures, but can
also be run on systems with multiple components, such
as heat sinks, fans and openings.
