Relays earn a place in the sun

New PCFN power relays from Tyco Electronics are optimised for use in photovoltaic inverters, to enhance thecoupling of solar energy into power infrastructures such as the national grid.

In case of an emergency the devices are able to cut the feed between the photovoltaic system and the grid, as required by modern security regulations.

To enhance integration into a wide range of solar-energy solutions, the PCFN series relays have a footprint of 510mm², are configured with a single pole and one Normally-Open (N/O) contact, and have low hold power with high peak-current rating. To enable deployment in a variety of operating conditions, the new devices withstand ambient temperatures from -25°C to 75°C.
