World’s first true surface-mount memory-backup capacitors

NIC Components has introduced the NEXC series of memory-backup capacitors which, for the first time, delivers memory-backup capability in a true surface-mount V-chip package. |
The arrival of these capacitors on to the market
frees product developers from the restrictions
of unconventional pad layouts and handling
challenges, normally encountered when using
conventional backup capacitors in pseudosurface-
mount packages.
The NEXC series has a double-layer construction
and is housed in compact cases from 5.5mm
to 10.5mm in height and 10.5mm to 21.0mm
in diameter. The available capacitance values
for battery-backup applications range from
0.047F to 1.0F and rated voltages are 3.5V DC
and 5.5V DC. The rated operating temperature
range is -25ºC to 70ºC.
