Smaller footprint and enhanced efficiency for 27A converters

Vishay has introduced the SiC714CD10 and SiC711CD10 synchronous buck regulators, capable of delivering continuous output current of 27A and 25A respectively, in the thermally-efficient 10mm x 10mm PowerPAK® MLF package |
Both devices integrate the control MOSFET,
synchronous MOSFET and driver circuit for a
synchronous regulator, and connect directly to a
PWM controller or ASIC. This topology minimises
parasitic leakage inductance and achieves 3%
better efficiency than a comparable discrete
solution.
An external pin to control the low-side MOSFET
permits pre-biased start-up, thereby avoiding
undesirable sinking of current from a pre-charged
output capacitor. In addition, break-before-make
operation prevents shoot-through and minimises
dead-time. Other features include Under-Voltage
Lockout (UVLO) and turn-on/turn-off capability.
Both devices are optimised for 12V-to-logic-voltage
conversion.
