Digital control for analogue power supplies
|
|
The Microchip MCP1630 provides integrated features to support highspeed, intelligent power-system controllers. |
On-chip features include
a high-speed comparator
with a high-performance
error amplifier and a PWM
latch to perform the
analogue power-supply
PWM function.
Parameters including
output voltage or current,
switching frequency and
maximum duty cycle can
be adjusted using an
external microcontroller,
allowing the power system
to adapt continuously to
external signals and
variables for optimum
performance. External
adjustment also allows
automatic calibration of
the MCP1630 outputs.
The MCP1630 allows designers to add
precision control, digital communication and
programmability to power system designs, while
the typical current draw of 2.8mA minimises
energy requirements for use in power-conscious
designs.
