50W, three-output power supply carries medical approvals

The Astec LPT50 series power supplies are compact, triple-output 50W units that accept universal input voltage and frequency, and provide a selection of standard DC positive outputs from 3.3V to 24V.

The new units achieve power density of 5.5W/in3 with convection cooling, within a compact footprint of 50mm x 100mm and low profile allowing use in 1U-high installations. The primary output will deliver up to 9A, with over-power and short-circuit protection as well as CISPR 22 Class B EMI filtering. Typical efficiency is 80% at full load, and the inrush current is below 60A at 230V AC under cold-start conditions.

Major worldwide safety and performance standards include IEC60950-1 and CE marking, as well as the EN61000-X susceptibility requirements. Reliability is proven, at more than 550,000 hours Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF).

The LPT50-M series is also available, carrying medical safety certifications.
