Fully-configurable clock generator allows custom frequencies in 60 seconds



 


 

Cypress Semiconductor's configurable clock generator eliminates the need to wait days or weeks for custom-programmed parts or for a mask change, and enables customers to reduce inventory and device qualification requirements by ordering a single part number to support multiple designs.

Users can generate any desired frequency for the CY22801 clock with easy-to-use CyClocksRT™ software. The CY22801 supports frequencies used in virtually any consumer electronic and communication application, including Ethernet, PCI, USB, CPU, video and audio.

In addition, Cypress has added more than 60 widely-used clock configurations to those available for the original InstaClock chip, the CY22800. Both the CY22800 and CY22801 InstaClock devices have an integrated Phase-Locked Loop (PLL) and deliver low-jitter, high-accuracy outputs.

Designers can use the CY36800 InstaClock Programmable Clock Generator kit for instant programming of CY22800 and CY22801 InstaClock samples. Since clock requirements and board designs change during prototyping, the kit enables engineers to streamline the process of tuning clocks in order to reduce the development cycle.
