Industry’s smallest optocoupler with 2.5A peak drive capability
The ACPL-H312 optocoupler from
Avago Technologies provides 2.5A peak
gate-drive capability within a stretched
SO-8 package.
This enables a 40% board-space saving compared
to similarly-rated devices in Dual Inline Packages
(DIP), while maintaining comparable maximum
working insulation voltage of 891V.
Where applications demand small size and
high operating efficiency, the ACPL-H312 will
directly drive MOSFETs or IGBTs rated up to
1200V and 100A. 15kV/µs common-mode
rejection at 1500V ensures high noise
immunity. Combined with the wide operatingtemperature
range of -40°C to 100°C, this allows
use in harsh environments including industrial
equipment. Additional features include 3mA
maximum supply current, which reduces
power consumption and allows use of a
bootstrappable power supply. Integrated
Under-Voltage Lockout
(UVLO) protection
prevents unwanted IGBT
turn-on leading to circuit
damage.
Surpassing 7mm
creepage-and-clearance
standards, the ACPLH312
carries applicable
safety approvals
including IEC 60747-5-2,
and meets the voltagewithstand
requirements
of UL1577 at 3750Vrms
for one minute.
