SSRs streamline design with extra, integrated functions
Crydom has integrated additional
microprocessor-controlled features into
four families of Solid State Relays (SSRs)
for applications up to 90A and 530V AC,
delivering ease of design, compactness
and cost savings.
All devices share a common package outline
to simplify board layout.
The Crydom MCTC series integrates a
temperature controller featuring short-cycle
compressor protection. Only a J- or K-type
thermocouple and a 32mA DC source are
required for closed-loop temperature control.
Five temperature ranges are available.
By integrating a phase-angle controller
alongside the SSR, the MCPC series
provides a complete phase-fired logic
system and also integrates a snubber
network. No calibration is required.
For applications requiring gradual
power application or shut-down, MCS
series variants provide adjustable softstart,
soft-stop or soft-start/soft-stop
options. Ramp times are remotely
adjustable from 100ms to 10 seconds.
The integrated burst-fire controller
on-board the MCBC series supports
0-100% adjustment and provides two
time-base periods for smooth
proportional control. AC-phasedetection
circuitry allows connection
to only one side of the load, simplifying
installation.
