Dual MOSFET drivers enhance MCU control and reduce footprint
Vishay Siliconix has introduced three
half-bridge MOSFET-driver ICs with
features to reduce external component
count and to protect both internal
circuitry and external MOSFETs.
The SiP41103, SiP41104 and SiP41105 are each
capable of supplying 5V gate-drive signals at up
to 1A to MOSFETs in 4.5V to 50V applications.
All three devices feature break-before-make
logic to prevent shoot-through currents in
the external MOSFETs and internal circuitry.
A floating high-side driver, isolated from the
substrate and supplied through internal
bootstrap circuitry, allows direct-drive of
an N-channel high-side MOSFET to further
reduce overall component count.
The SiP41103 and SiP41105 provide a
synchronous Enable pin and adjustable highside
propagation delay. The SiP41105 also has
a Shutdown pin allowing an MCU to turn off
the driver directly.
All devices feature
Under-Voltage
Lockout (UVLO) to
prevent MOSFET
turn-on when the
supply voltage is
less than specified.
To integrate
easily with systems
that require frugal
power management,
the drivers all
feature shutdown
modes that reduce
the stand-by
current to less than
5µA.
