Miniaturised MoBL-USB™ transceiver offers low-power operation
The TX3LP18 is a high-speed USB 2.0
transceiver available in a 20-pin Wafer
Level Chip Scale Package (WLCSP) that
measures only 2.2mm x 1.8mm. Cypress
Semiconductor’s MoBL-USB™ TX3LP18
transceiver also offers low power
consumption with a 0.5µA nominal
sleep mode.
This combination can save board space and
prolongs battery-life in a wide range of
portable applications.
In addition to its small size, the device
integrates multiple passive components in order
to further reduce board-space usage and enable
smaller end systems. The TX3LP18 removes the
need for a dedicated 3.3V power supply with a
wide input supply voltage range from 3.0V to
5.8V, and features an integrated Phase-Locked
Loop (PLL) to supply USB clocking requirements
without a dedicated crystal.
The TX3LP18 provides a high-speed physical
layer interface that operates at the maximum
allowable USB 2.0 bandwidth. Operation at
various frequencies is supported, including the
common 26MHz and 19.2MHz clock
frequencies found in handsets.
A standard interface is provided that is USB 2.0
certified and compliant with the UTMI + Low
Pin Interface (ULPI) specification.
