High-stability ceramic resonators move up to NFC and USB frequencies
Murata has extended its CERALOCK®
ceramic resonators range with the
CSTCE-XK series, allowing Near-Field
Communications (NFC) and high-speed
USB applications to benefit from a
lower-cost and smaller-size alternative
to quartz crystal resonators.
New members of the CSTCE-XK series include a
27.12MHz device designed specifically for use
in NFC systems such as contactless payment
and close-proximity file sharing. Other
members of the series cover operating
frequencies from 24MHz to 48MHz, serving
applications such as 480Mbit/s Hi-Speed USB
2.0 communications.
The new devices deliver tight initial frequency
tolerance of -250ppm to +200ppm, as well as
minimal frequency shift of ±150ppm between 0°C
and 70°C for stable and reliable operation. Each of
the devices introduced also features built-in load
capacitance, to deliver space savings and reduce
part count. Available load-capacitance values are
5pF, 10pF and 15pF with ±20% tolerance.
