Surface-mount infrared sensors lower profile to 2.6mm
Murata has introduced surface-mount
pyroelectric infrared sensors for duties
including intruder detection, reducing
package overheads and total size
compared to conventional can-type
sensors, as well as enabling high-speed
automated assembly.
The Murata IRSA200ST01-R1 has
a 5.7mm x 6.7mm
footprint and 2.6mm
profile, enabling a
compact solution.
The 4-terminal package
also integrates the
optical filter and
output FET as well as
the sensing element,
thereby eliminating
several external
components.
In addition, the IRSA200ST01-R1 delivers
high sensitivity and
signal-to-noise ratio,
stable output over a wide temperature
range, high stability against white light,
and enhanced RFI immunity. Changes to
the shape of the detector element have
enhanced stability over temperature,
improved detection throughout a wider
field-of-view, and increased immunity to
false triggering by small bodies such as pets.
A revised lens design also produces greater
intensity of light at the detector surface, and
several lenses are available to optimise
performance for 3m-5m, 5m-7m or 10m-12m
detection ranges.
