Low-loss solid-state relays match standard pin-outs
IXYS Corporation has introduced
three 60V-rated, voltage-controlled
solid-state relays in 4-pin SIP
packages for direct replacement of
reed relays, delivering improved
reliability and EMC performance.
The single-pole normally-open CPC1217Y
and single-pole normally-closed CPC1219Y
are rated to 200mA and 150mA respectively,
and both have on-resistance of 16Ω.
The CPC1218Y has lower on-resistance
of 0.18Ω for systems that require
ultra-low losses, and can
handle currents up to
600mA.
All three devices are
designed to operate with an
input voltage range from 5V
to 12V, and are suitable for use in
security systems meeting EN50130-4.
Voltage-controlled switching is achieved
using an internal resistor in series with the
integrated infrared LED.
Each device is manufactured using a patented
OptoMOS® architecture and provides a
2500Vrms input-to-output isolation barrier.
Also, because the solid-state input
generates no inductive transient voltages,
the new relays eliminate the extra cost and
footprint of suppression circuitry normally
required with electromagnetic relays.
