Ambient-light sensors meet every need
Vishay has extended its range of ambient-light
sensors with new package styles and
sensing characteristics, to address the
widest possible range of applications.
The three latest devices are the TEMT6200FX01,
TEPT5700 and TEPT4400, offering surfacemount
or through-hole package styles as
well as a variety of angular-sensitivity and
wavelength-sensitivity characteristics. The
new sensors join Vishay’s existing ambient light
sensors, the TEMT6000X01 and TEPT5600 in
surface-mount and through-hole packages,
creating a portfolio that can fulfill the
requirements of most applications.
This extended selection of ambient-light
sensors delivers valuable performance
enhancements and power savings in a
wide range of user-interface applications,
including instrument panels, LCDs, keypads
and on/off indicators. They can also be used
as convenient phototransistors that require no
external amplifier. As a further benefit, these
sensors can be used as a RoHS-compliant
replacement for cadmium-sulphide photo
resistors. Straightforward two-wire connection
allows easy design-in to most applications.

Ambient-light sensors offer a variety of angular- and wavelength-sensitivity characteristics.
