PIC® performance extended to 32-bit
The PIC® family of microcontrollers now
includes 32-bit parts that add more
performance and memory while
maintaining pin, peripheral and
development compatibility with
Microchip’s 16-bit families.
The PIC32™ family operates at up to 72MHz and
offers up to 512kB of Flash and 32kB of RAM. The
PIC32 family also includes a rich set of integrated
peripherals, including a variety of communication
peripherals and a 16-bit Parallel Master Port (PMP)
that supports additional memory and displays.
The PIC32’s high-performance core can achieve
1.5DMIPS/MHz operation, due to its efficient
instruction-set architecture, 5-stage pipeline,
hardware multiply/accumulate unit and up to
eight sets of 32 core registers. In addition, to
reduce memory requirements, the PIC32 supports
the MIPS16e™ 16-bit ISA, enabling code-size
reductions of up to 40%. The PIC32 family is based
on the industry-standard MIPS32® architecture,
which also enables high performance, low power
consumption and fast interrupt response.

All PIC32MX devices feature: POR, BOR, LVD, programmable internal pull-ups, internal voltage regulator and operate at -40°C to 85°C.
