System-on-Chip cuts cost and size of multimedia solutions
The LH7A400 32-bit System-on-Chip
(SoC) from NXP Semiconductors is
built around the ARM922T core,
offering broad familiarity and plentiful
interfaces for mobile vision and audio
applications.
The peripheral set for the LH7A400 includes
an ISO7816 smart-card interface, a multimedia
card adapter, a colour-LCD controller
supporting 1024 x 768 pixel resolution, and a
USB interface for 12Mbit/s communications. In
addition, the provision of an AC97 audio
codec, plus an interface to an 8-bit off-chip
codec, support high audio performance with
flexible control options. These features
combine with the 32-bit core to provide the
foundation for next-generation, low-power
media devices including portable audio
players and mobile television receivers.
Support for System Management Bus
(SMBus) functions also allows use in systems
where sophisticated monitoring and
diagnostics are required. In addition, the
LH7A400 integrates a smart battery interface,
allowing management and monitoring of
battery usage to enable longer recharge
intervals.
