Integrated signal and sound processing enhances audio converter IC
The UDA1344TS is a single-chip
stereo ADC and DAC from NXP
Semiconductors incorporating
signal-processing features for fast
performance and high integration.
Low power consumption and low-voltage
operation enable use in portable digital
audio equipment incorporating recording
and playback functions.
Multiple, widely-used data formats are
supported, including I2S-bus and MSB-justified
formats with word lengths up to 20 bits, as well
as the LSB-justified data format with word
lengths of 16, 18 and 20 bits.
The device also supports three combined
data formats with MSB-justified data output
and LSB-justified data input of 16, 18 or 20
bits.
The UDA1344TS also provides a serial
hardware interface enabling operation in
static-pin mode or under L3 MCU-interface
control. Static-pin mode permits control over
system clock-frequency selection, data
input/output format selection, de-emphasis
and mute control, power-down and ADC
input-level selection, whereas in L3 mode
the device supports special Digital Sound
Processing (DSP) features in playback mode.
These include de-emphasis, volume control,
bass boost, treble and soft mute.
