MOSFETs cut conduction and switching losses for multiple benefits
International Rectifier’s family of 30V
HEXFET MOSFETs deliver enhanced
efficiency under both full-load and lightload
conditions.
These allow higher performance and replace
paralleled MOSFETs for reduced board space
requirements and assembly costs.
These improvements are the product of
architectural enhancements to IR’s HEXFET
technology, delivering simultaneous savings
in on-resistance and gate charge.
Depending on the application, the new
HEXFET devices enable a simplified costeffective
performance upgrade path for existing
designs. They are particularly suited to point-ofload
synchronous buck converter applications
requiring current-handling capability between
4A and 12A per MOSFET. The low conduction
losses also improve thermal performance,
allowing the use of standard SO-8 and DPAK
packages to maximise cost savings at high
power ratings.
