Solid-state relay switches faster, reduces losses

The VO14642AT Solid-State Relay, from Vishay Intertechnology, offers a reduced 800µs switching time. This enables higher signal throughput in systems such as high-speed test equipment.

The VO14642AT is built with multi-chip hybrid technology, which also delivers a valuable reduction in on-resistance to 0.25Ω. In practical circuits this eliminates 90% of the losses normally incurred in a conventional optotriac switch, and allows multiple relays to be used without adding to power consumption or heat dissipation.

The single-pole single-throw 1 Form A relay performs clean, bounce-free switching of TTL- or CMOS-compatible signals, and is rated for 2A maximum load current and 60V maximum load voltage. The relays can be configured for AC/DC or DC-only operation. Actuation control is performed via an Infrared LED, resulting in 5300V optical isolation between the input circuitry and the output photodiode array and MOSFET switches.
