PIN diode performs with minimum distortion

The HSMP-386J PIN diode from Avago Technologies performs RF transmit/receive switching for high-power signals up to 40dBm, and has low insertion loss and high isolation to minimise distortion of the RF signal.

The HSMP-386J also has low DC bias-current requirements, and is constructed using multiple parallel dies to minimise both series resistance and leakage current. This allows fast switching while also simplifying design of the switching circuit.

The 8-pin QFN package measures 2mm x 2mm, and is engineered with high thermal conductivity to optimise power dissipation and enhance reliability.

FEATURES
  • Match diode for consistent performance
  • Low Failure-In-Time (FIT) rate
  • 0.65Ω typical DC series resistance
  • 1A maximum forward current
  • 100V peak inverse voltage
APPLICATIONS
  • Two-way radio systems
  • 3G base stations
  • Cellular backhaul equipment

Design enhancements introduced in the HSMP-386J
minimise PIN-diode parasitic effects.
