PIN diodes deliver predictable performance in miniature packages
Rohm Electronics has a wide range
of PIN diodes for RF-switching and
tuner-attenuation applications,
which achieve ultra-low distortion
and a highly linear ohmic-change
characteristic resulting in predictable
behaviour.
Further attributes of Rohm’s PIN diodes
include low high-frequency forward
resistance and low capacitance, to minimise
losses. The devices span a range of miniature
surface-mount package sizes, ranging from
the SMD3 type measuring 1.6mm x 2.9mm x
1.1mm to the recently-introduced 0.6mm x
0.3mm x 0.3mm-high GMD2 package.
The first device to be introduced in the
GMD2 package is the RN142ZS, which
delivers enhanced signal quality as well as
miniaturisation when used as an attenuator
or as an RF switch.
