RF switch connector reduces overhead for test provision
Murata’s SWF series of switched coaxial
connectors reduce the footprint and
mounting height of test points for
microwave circuits.
The new connectors, MM8130-2600, measure
2.5mm x 2.5mm x 1.5mm and allow reliable
attachment of test probes during development as
well as production testing. In addition to offering a
valuable saving compared to the previousgeneration
SWD series, the SWF series retains
compatibility with existing test probes and
therefore requires no changes to test-equipment
setup.
Other key features of this coaxial switched
connector include its wide operating frequency
range from DC to 6GHz, which covers all popular
frequency bands. Insertion loss is 0.1dB maximum
in the DC to 3GHz range and 0.2dB maximum in
the 3 to 6GHz range, minimising the effect on the
circuit’s performance. Isolation is 20dB minimum in
the DC to 3GHz range and 15dB in the 3GHz to
6GHz range. In addition, the Voltage Standing
Wave Ratio (VSWR) of 1.2:1 in the DC to 3GHz
range, and 1.3:1 in the 3GHz to 6GHz range,
transfers signal power efficiently to the test
equipment. The connectors also have high
mating durability of 100 cycles.
