Module enables plug-in WLAN

The OWSPA311g complete WLAN module from connectBlue solves all software, hardware, type-approval and EMC-certification challenges for WLAN serial port adapters, to save cost and time-to-entry into competitive markets.

In addition to overcoming these significant design hurdles, the OWSPA311g allows the host to stream data over TCP or UDP without an external driver or TCP/IP stack, which enables easy integration within a wider variety of devices. The module is configured using a PC toolkit or AT commands. It is available with either a standard host connector or 6-pin connector, and either internal or external antenna connectors. Antenna diversity is also supported, for improved performance with external antennas.

Other features include a small form factor, as well as a common interface layout shared with connectBlue’s similar range of Bluetooth modules. This allows products to be designed to fit either Bluetooth or WLAN modules, delivering further cost savings as well as enabling faster response to end-customer orders.
