Ultra-miniature dual LDOs save space and power

Semtech has introduced the SC560 family of dual-output LDO linear regulators, which feature 100µA quiescent current, 0.1µA standby current and 200mV dropout under a 200mA load.

Further benefits for portable applications include ultra-small dimensions of 1.5mm x 1.5mm x 0.6mm, as well as integrated protection features including current limiting, under-voltage lockout (UVLO), and thermal protection. The devices are optimised for use with 1µF output capacitors, enabling overall footprint savings of up to 40%.

There are eight devices in the product family, offering options including independent Enable pins for each output and a power-good signal with 200ms delay supporting flexible power management. Performance benefits common to all devices include Power Supply Rejection Ratio (PSRR) of 65dB, and 50µV_rms noise, resulting in a clean and stable power output.
