Small-signal MOSFETs in ultra-small SOT883 outperform larger rivals
The PMZxxxxN series of small-signal
MOSFETs from NXP Semiconductors offer
an ultra-small SOT883 package measuring
1.0mm x 0.6mm with 0.5mm profile,
featuring best-in-class switching speed and
very low on-resistance for small size and
high power efficiency.
The devices achieve comparable power
dissipation and performance to SOT23 devices
but occupy only 14% of the PCB space.
By using Quad Flat Non-leaded (QFN) package
technology, these new transistors not only save
board space but also reduce or eliminate
parasitic effects associated with electrical and
thermal resistivity of leads. This combination of
superior thermal performance with on-resistance
of less than 0.65Ω at 2.5V supports higher
current-carrying capacity than other similarly-sized
MOSFETs. The new series also achieves
turn-on times between 12-16ns and turn-off
times between 17-24ns, enabling high-frequency
operation for increased efficiency and smaller
filtering components.
