Directional couplers save power and space in cellular applications
Smaller directional couplers from
Murata have low insertion loss and
consistent coupling factor, to save
space and ease design of RF power-control
circuitry for longer battery life
in cellular equipment.
The Murata LDC15 series, for applications up to
3W, are 0402 surface-mount devices that save PCB
space when monitoring the RF signal to optimise
amplifier power consumption. Low insertion loss
of 0.2dB ensures minimum impact on RF signal
power. The devices have coupling factors from
16.3dB to 20.5dB, which are accurate within 1dB to
ease design of the associated external capacitor
and shunt resistor. High isolation, between 34dB
and 32dB, is also achieved.
Five devices are available in the frequency range
800MHz to 3000MHz, covering UMTS bands 1, 2
and 5.
