Maintainability adds to LED lighting advantages

Mill-Max offers a full line of low-profile, above-board and elevated-barrel receptacles suitable for socketing LED devices, enabling easy installation and replacement in lighting applications.

In a custom LED-lighting application, a bank of LEDs mounted on a flexible cable may need to be quickly replaced. Instead of de-soldering wires from a circuit board, the Mill-Max system allows rapid replacement of the LED unit by simply unplugging the header connector from the receptacle.

Mill-Max precision-machined receptacles utilise a multi-finger beryllium-copper spring contact. This ensures secure retention and maintains a reliable electrical connection to the mated LED lead. To reduce the time required to assemble individual socket receptacles, multiple configurations are available meeting Single in-line (SIP), Dual in-line (DIP), Pin-Grid Array (PGA) or application-specific footprint patterns.

These receptacles deliver benefits in any printed-circuit, front-panel, board-edge or elevated-height application, enabling reliable electrical interconnections as well as future field-device upgradeability.
