Hot-pluggable connectors ensure safe, fast maintenance of lighting

LIGHT-N-LOK connectors from Tyco Electronics implement a hot-pluggable disconnect feature, which allows safe field-servicing of ballasted fluorescent light fittings without exposing personnel to the danger of electric shock.

Featured for ease of use and rapid installation in the factory or the field, LIGHT-N-LOK connectors have poke-in terminations for 1.02mm-diameter wire and allow tool-less assembly. An integral strain relief maximises wire retention by preventing inadvertent wire twisting and pullout. Normal wire retention exceeds 11.3kg. Dual squeeze-to-release latches provide additional security by preventing unintentional disconnects.

Two-position and three-position variants are available, with housings designed to fit into 15.875mm diameter or 22.225mm diameter knockout openings respectively. The housings have a rounded, snag-resistant design and meet UL 94V-0 for flammability.
