Industrial-strength SIM connectors upgrade M2M performance

AVX’s robust, locking SIM connectors for M2M communication applications, feature metal top and bottom casings that combine durability and high RFI shielding.

The AVX 5036 series SIM connectors employ push-push card insertion, which provides a clear indication that the card has been located properly. A card-detection feature shows that a card is present. All devices in the 5036 series have the push/push locking facility, and a second level of locking can be provided by an optional slide-lock version. The double locking system makes the 5036 ideal for more rugged applications such as automotive telematics and medical devices.

The connectors meet relevant international standards for SIM cards, and are available in 6- and 8-way versions. The operating temperature range is -40°C to 85°C. Higher temperature ratings can be supplied to meet automotive standards. Further options include location pegs to facilitate hand assembly.
