Connectors make light work of small-lamp assembly

The Tyco Electronics 7.5mm Mini HVL interconnection system enables fast and compact power and inter-lamp connections for small lighting devices such as LEDs, miniature Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFLs), OLEDs and miniature halogen lamps.

The connectors are rated for 250V AC, 125V AC, 42V AC or 42V DC applications, and meet IEC 60320 standards for installation in furniture, ceilings, walls and floors. A polarised 250V AC version is also available. The plug’s 7.5mm outside diameter allows installation inside 8mm furniture holes.

The complete system includes assembly kits for plugs and outlets, with several different keying patterns supported, as well as a 6-way distributor including an additional switch feature. This allows fast and easy assembly of lighting systems. Further accessories for the new interconnection include cable assemblies, panel mount outlets, splitters, outlet bridges and bus bars.
