Three-phase gate-driver IC adds seventh channel for higher integration
IR has included an extra low-side driver
in the IRS26302D 600V three-phase
gate driver IC, allowing designers to
implement a PFC switch or inverter
brake in the same device to save
footprint and component count.
The IRS26302D also implements extensive
protection functions, including negative high-side
offset voltage immunity allowing the
device to withstand very large negative-voltage
transients during high-current switching or
short-circuit conditions. Ground-fault
protection is also included, as well as overcurrent
and over-temperature detection, dead-time
protection, shoot-through protection,
Under-Voltage Lockout (UVLO) and an external
Shutdown pin.
By also providing
bootstrap functionality,
the IRS26302D saves
50% of bootstrap power
supply components and
is able to implement
over-voltage protection
for the system.
Additional integrated
features include an
advanced input filter,
which rejects noise and
reduces distortion to
enhance system
performance in motor-control
applications.
The IRS26302D is capable of producing
200mA/350mA drive current at a gate-drive
voltage of up to 20V, and is compatible with
3.3V input logic.
