Drop-in compatible phototransistors withstand lead-free reflow
Systems using Vishay’s TEMT series
phototransistors can now migrate
directly to lead-free reflow soldering,
with the arrival of the pin- and
performance-compatible VEMT series.
By achieving 2µs rise and fall times and ±60°
angle of half intensity, these devices are fully
compatible with the current TEMT series, which
enables easy and quick migration to meet leadfree
soldering requirements.
Initially three VEMT series phototransistors
are available, including the VEMT3700 and
VEMT4700 in PLCC2 and PLCC3 packages
respectively. These are sensitive to visible and
near-infrared wavelengths from 450nm to
1080nm. The VEMT3700F, also in the PLCC2
package, includes a band-pass filter to confine
sensitivity to the near infrared region from
830nm to 1100nm with peak sensitivity at
940nm.
All devices match with the Vishay infrared
emitter VSML3710.
