EEPROMs with I2C deliver robust performance in harsh environments
With its BR24S series of enhanced
EEPROMs, Rohm has achieved a non-volatile
memory that performs reliably in
harsh environments including conditions
where the power source is unstable.
Among the enhancements Rohm has delivered
in the BR24S series, is double-cell technology
which minimises random bit failures. In
addition, double-reset protection further
reduces data failures. Other enhancements
include write-mistake prevention and
support for page-write mode, as well as
auto-erase and auto-end functions at data
rewrite. In addition,
a sub-5ms write time
assures versatile highspeed
operation.
Further benefits of
Rohm’s new EEPROMs
include low current
draw of 0.5mA or
0.l2mA during all-write
or all-read operations.
Stand-by power is also
low, at 0.1µA, allowing
engineers to easily
meet low-power codes
coming into effect
world-wide. The
devices can operate
from a supply voltage
in the range 1.7V to
5.5V.
The operating
temperature range is
-40°C to 85°C, and
extended-temperature
versions are available
up to 125°C.
The BR24S series is available in a variety of
compact packages, including SOP-8, in
densities of 16kbyte, 32kbyte, 64kbyte,
128kbyte and 256kbyte.
