Micro memory for harsh industrial environments
The SST NANDrive™ family consists
of high-performance, fully-integrated
solid-state drives, with a host of
features that make them ideal for
industrial, embedded and mobile
storage applications.
NANDrive memory offers up to 8GB of cost-effective
storage contained within the smallest
package-size embedded memory solution
available today. The compact BGA package
enables secure and cost-effective mounting to a
system motherboard, and is completely free from
the fragility of mechanical working parts or
connectors. In addition, NANDrive is qualified for
-40°C to 85°C industrial operation, and do not
require additional protection circuitry that adds
cost and complication to other memory solutions,
such as miniature HDD. This product family also
includes additional security features to protect
confidential information, and advanced wear-levelling
algorithms to substantially increase the
endurance of Flash media.
NANDrive products are instantly compatible
with ATA/IDE formats, and offer the flexibility to
operate with many other interfaces.
On-chip Flash-based firmware controls parameters,
and can be regularly updated to accommodate
new NAND devices.
This offers significant benefits over ROM-based
controllers, which require an expensive and
time-consuming mask change in order to
accommodate new NAND devices.
