Versatile, low-cost connectors meet established performance and safety standards

The VAL-U-LOK connector system from Tyco Electronics is a wire-to-wire and wire-to-board connector system with a 4.2mm x 4.2mm centre-line.

Sizes range from 2 to 24 positions for double-row configurations and 3 to 5 positions for single-row versions. The header assemblies come with pre-loaded contacts and may be installed on the PCB manually or automatically using robotic equipment. All housings are polarised for easier mating, and feature locking latches to help maintain reliable connections. VAL-U-LOK connectors are a fully inter-mating and interchangeable alternative to the Molex Mini-Fit Jr.™ Series connectors and can also be inter-mated with AMPDUAC connectors.

Available configurations include plug and receptacle connector housings for free-hanging and panel-mount applications, as well as board-mount right-angle, vertical or blindmate header assemblies. The system is available in UL 94 V-2 or UL 94 V-0 flammability-rated nylon, with contacts in brass or phosphor bronze and either tin or gold plating.
