Regulators deliver stability with fast-changing loads
The BD95500MUV and BD95513MUV are
switched-mode regulators from Rohm,
incorporating the company’s H3Reg™
technology for high efficiency and stable
performance in applications featuring
widely-fluctuating load conditions.
Among the benefits of this technology,
the unique Simple Light-Load Mode (SLLM)
ensures low power consumption and high
efficiency throughout light-load conditions
and even in suspended mode, while also
achieving up to 95% efficiency in normal
operation over the entire load region.
In addition, the devices also provide
Enable and Soft-start pins to support
synchronised start-up of multiple power
supplies, such as
for CPUs and DRAMs.
The regulators are
also optimised to
respond more quickly
to rapid load
fluctuations than
other devices, and are
able to maintain
regulation within
20mV. This is around
half that of alternative
regulators, resulting in
improved stability at
higher speeds and
lower voltages.
These regulators also feature integrated
MOSFETs with low on-resistance, wide input-voltage
range, adjustable output voltages and 3A
or 6A maximum output current. Built-in protection
features include thermal shutdown and UVLO, as
well as over-current and over-voltage protection.
