Programmable mixed-signal arrays add enhanced ADC and extra Flash for complex processing

Cypress Semiconductor’s PSoC® mixed-signal-array devices with on-chip ADC have been enhanced for analogue sampling duties, and now feature an 8-bit successive-approximation ADC capable of 375 ksamples/s and a larger 8kbyte Flash memory for algorithm processing.

The CY8C23433 and CY8C23533 are the latest members of Cypress’s flagship PSoC family combining programmable analogue and digital blocks with a co-integrated 8-bit microcontroller. Their extended capabilities target applications with multiple features and rich software content, such as motor controllers, image engines for digital cameras, and powerline communication devices.

On-chip resources include four digital blocks, two basic and two communication blocks, and four analogue blocks comprising two continuous-time and two switched-capacitor blocks. The CY8C23533 is available in a 32-pin 5mm x 5mm QFN package and the CY8C23433 is available in a 28-pin SSOP package.
