PC/104 and PC/104-Plus connectors reduce assembly overheads

Tyco Electronics offers three time-saving advantages with PC/104 and PC/104-Plus connectors that meet the interconnection requirements defined by the PC/104 organisation.

First, the ‘flat-rock’ press-fit design simplifies installation and saves the need for complex insertion tooling. Traditional solder versions are also available.

The second advantage comes from the connectors’ optional integral stand-offs with captive hardware. These minimise assembly time, and also save stocking discrete board spacers.

Thirdly, the unitised design of the PC/104 connector delivers faster, easier, error-free ordering and stocking by allowing a single 104-way part number as opposed to two part numbers for traditional 40-way and 64-way connectors.
