Rotating connectors prevent stress on cables
Snap-Lock SMA connectors from Tyco
Electronics have a snap-on interface for
easy assembly, which also allows the
mated connection to rotate as
necessary to relieve stress on the cable
and connector assembly.
Further advantages
of the Snap-Lock SMA
connectors’ snap-on
assembly include permitting
closer spacing of jacks on the
connector panel and eliminating the
need for the jack assembly to withstand
rotational torque while being mated.
Snap-Lock SMA connectors are fully intermatable
with standard SMA threaded jacks and
SMA bulkhead jacks. This maximises backwards
compatibility and interchangeability between
cable assemblies and different types of
products. The snap-on connectors also achieve
similar performance, including tightlycontrolled
50Ω characteristic impedance,
frequency range from DC to 6GHz, and
maximum VSWR of 1.25 over the full operating
bandwidth, for the straight-plug variant.
These are high-quality connectors
featuring metal construction,
low contact resistance,
high insulation
resistance, and
rated voltage of
35V AC. A
Snap-Lock
SMA sample
kit is also
available.
