Integrated Regulators Save PCB Space for PoL Applications
The IR380x family of wide-input,
single-output Point-of-Load (PoL)
DC/DC voltage regulators save space
in applications up to 14A.
The devices integrate control ICs optimised
with benchmark HEXFET® MOSFETs in a 5mm
x 6mm power-QFN package, saving space
compared to discrete solutions.
The SupIRBuck™ family of voltage
regulators is designed for 4A, 7A and 12A of
output load current at 600kHz; and 6A, 9A
and 14A at 300kHz. The devices feature a
wide input range from 2.5V
to 21V, an output range
from 0.6V to 12V, pre-bias
start-up, a choice of two
fixed switching frequencies,
hiccup current limit,
thermal shutdown and
precise output-voltage
regulation.
A thermally-enhanced
package with 0.9mm profile
height, allows mounting on the
underside of a motherboard
for additional space saving
and enables no-air-flow
operation without heat sink
up to 10A.
