CyFi™ is a complete 2.4GHz solution for wireless embedded-control systems supported by easy-to-use software and kits.

Cypress’s CyFi uses the combination of a robust protocol, power-efficient radios, and the programmable PSoC to deliver reliable connectivity, power-efficiency and superior range.

Typical wireless embedded control solutions require designers to compromise between power-efficiency and reliability. The CyFi solution, however, can change the broadcast frequency, output power and data rate in real time, depending on operating conditions, to optimise reliability and power consumption.

CyFi transceivers are powered by PSoC devices, which integrate programmable analogue and digital blocks, hundreds of pre-configured modules and an 8-bit microcontroller on a single chip. A PSoC device can replace multiple discrete components, integrates numerous functions and can be reprogrammed at any stage of the development process.

The CyFi protocol stack links the PSoC device and the CyFi transceiver, and offers a pre-configured, customisable firmware module that can be dropped into the PSoC Designer™ 5.0 Integrated Design Environment (IDE). This enables designers to create feature-rich wireless applications without complex coding.
