Higher-Power PoE for Applications Up to 40W
The NCP1080 and NCP1081 Power-over-Ethernet
Powered Devices (PoE-PD)
provide an integrated solution for
demanding Ethernet applications.
In a single unit, they combine an enhanced PoEPD
interface and a configurable
DC/DC converter controller.
The NCP1080 is IEEE 802.3af
compliant and serves the 13W
segment of the market. The
NCP1081 is a high-power PoE
device, which supports the most
recent IEEE 802.3 (draft 3.0)
specifications at 25W, and has
been designed to support
higher-power proprietary
applications up to 40W. These
higher-power features mean that
the advantages of PoE are being
made available to amuch
broader spectrum of products.
Both devices are pin compatible and fabricated
in a robust, rugged high-voltage process suitable
for the most demanding environments. The
NCP1080 and NCP1081 are capable of
withstanding hot swap,
surge and cable-ESD
events.
