Plug-in Relay Interface Saves Power
Tyco Electronics’ XT series of plug-in
relays offers a coil power of only
400mW for the DC-coil version, and
only 750mVA for the AC-coil version,
thereby saving power compared to
plug-in relays in the same class.
The series includes one-pole, 16A and two-pole,
8A versions. Using reinforced pins for plug-in
and panel applications, the XT series does not
require special sockets and and reduces
logistical cost by using the same 5mm pin-out
for both versions. A clear cover allows easy
visibility of the contacts, whilst a mechanical
indicator shows the contact position. The relays
also feature a lockable manual-test system.
Visual indication can be provided by an
integrated LED, and optionally an internal
protection diode (with DC-coil types).
Reinforced insulation means that the XT
series meets protection class II VDE 0700
specifications. Switching capacities are available
up to 4000VA and 2000VA for the one-pole and
two-pole versions respectively. The DC- and AC-coil
versions are also colour coded to minimise
the risk of errors.
