Regulator Delivers Display Voltages Efficiently From a Single AA Cell
The AS1343 high-voltage boost
regulator provides a voltage up to 42V,
delivering the output required for
applications such as LCD or OLED
displays from a battery source.
The AS1343 offers automatic power-save
operation, which improves efficiency at light loads,
whilst the micro-power design reduces operating
supply current to 22µA. The AS1343 also offers a
shutdown mode, requiring less than 1µA current,
combined with an output disconnect feature.
Altogether, these features reduce the power
consumption of the AS1343, resulting in increased
battery life.
austriamicrosystems’ AS1343 delivers 40mA with
an output voltage of 24V and an input voltage of
3.3V; or 30mA from a single AA cell with an output
voltage adjustable in the range of 5.5V to 42V. The
AS1343 can operate from a single supply voltage
between 0.9V and 3.6V.
The 1MHz fixed switching frequency minimises
the PCB footprint by allowing the use of smaller
inductors and capacitors. This constant frequency
switching also results in low, predictable output
noise that can be easily filtered.
The AS1343 offers 2% output voltage accuracy,
with a power-ok signal that indicates if the voltage
is within 10% of regulation. This regulator is
available in a compact 3mmx 3mmx 0.8mm
TDFN 10-pin package for
industrial temperature
ranges from -40°C to 85°C.
