Stepping-Motor Drivers Eradicate Additional Circuitry

ROHM Electronics’ high-performance, high-reliability stepping-motor drivers utilise PWM constant-current drive.

This results in increased efficiency and eliminates the need for additional circuitry, such as a snubber circuit, resulting in lower power consumption.

The BD638x drivers feature latch-type over-current protection, ghost-supply prevention and reduced EMI. These protection circuits, and improved layout design, ensure high-reliability performance.

FEATURES
  • PWM constant-current drive
  • Single power supply
  • No logic supply needed
  • Simplified power-up/down sequence
  • Simplified PCB layout and routing
  • No charge pump required
  • Full, half, quarter and eighth step-drive options
  • Linearly-variable/fast/slow/mixed-current-decay modes
APPLICATIONS
  • Stepping-motor circuits

PWM constant-current drive eliminates the need for additional security.
