2.5A IGBT Gate-Drive Optocoupler Features Wide Temperature Range
With an operating temperature
range from -40°C to 125°C, the
ACPL-312T optocoupler from Avago
Technologies is suited to driving the
power IGBTs and MOSFETs used in
automotive motor-control inverter
and DC/DC converter applications.
The ACPL-312T contains an AlGaAs LED
optically coupled to an integrated circuit
with a power-output stage. The high
operating voltage range of the output stage
provides the drive voltages required by gate-controlled
devices. The voltage and current
supplied by these optocouplers makes them
ideally suited for directly driving IGBTs with
ratings up to 1200V and 100A. For IGBTs with
higher ratings, the ACPL-312T series can be
used to drive a discrete power stage, which
then drives the IGBT gate.
