Converter Integrates Efficiency Features for Battery-Powered LED Driving
The SiP12510 and SiP2511 1.25MHz
current-mode boost converters
integrate a feedback reference
voltage of 0.1V to enable reduced
PCB size and increased power-conversion
efficiency.
A logic-level shutdown pin can be used to
reduce quiescent current to
below 1µA, extending battery
life.
The overall circuit efficiency
of the SiP12510/11 converters
makes them an ideal power
solution for white LED, OLED,
LCD and CCD applications
operating from a single- or
dual-cell lithium-ion battery.
Vishay’s converters accept
an input-voltage range from
2.5V to 6V and deliver an
output voltage of up to 27.5V
for the SiP12511 and 17V for
the SiP12510.
An integrated 33V power switch can carry
up to 0.55A and features over-current
limiting. An internal soft-start circuit controls
the rate of rise of the output voltage during
start-up to prevent overshoot. Thermal
shutdown is also included and internal
frequency compensation minimises the
number of external components.
The SiP12510/11 boost converters are
available in a 6-pin TSOT23-6 package and
are specified to operate over the industrial
temperature range of -40°C to 85°C.
